Decks

Backyard living starts on a solid deck

A deck should feel like another room of the house. We start with how you plan to use it, whether that is Sunday cookouts, a quiet coffee spot or room for the kids, and build the size, stairs and layout around that.

What you cannot see matters most. Footings set below the frost line, properly flashed ledger boards and correctly spaced framing keep a deck safe and square for decades. On top we install low maintenance composite or pressure treated decking with aluminum or wood railings. If you are also dreaming of a ground level space, take a look at our patios.

Popular choices

  • Composite decking
  • Pressure treated framing
  • Black aluminum railing
  • White railing
  • Wide entertaining stairs
  • Wrapped support posts

How It Works

How your project comes together

  1. 1

    Site Visit & Layout

We walk the yard, check door heights and grade, and mark out the size and shape on the spot.

  2. 2

    Design & Permit

You approve a plan and materials, and we help with the paperwork your township requires.

  3. 3

    Footings & Framing

Footings go in first, then the frame, with careful attention to level, flashing and hardware.

  4. 4

    Decking, Rail & Finish

Decking, railings and stairs are installed, trimmed out and checked. We clean up before we call it done.

Decks FAQ

Your questions, answered

Straight answers to what homeowners ask us most. Anything else, just reach out.

  • Should I choose composite or wood decking?

Composite costs more up front but needs no staining or sealing and resists fading and splinters. Wood has a classic look and a lower starting price but needs regular upkeep. We bring samples of both and run the numbers for your size.

  • Do I need a permit to build a deck?

Most townships in Bucks County require one for a new deck. Requirements vary by municipality, so we review what your township expects as part of planning.

  • How long will my deck last?

A well built frame can outlast several surfaces. Details like flashing, footing depth and ventilation under the deck make the biggest difference, and composite boards often come with long manufacturer warranties.

  • Should I build a deck or a patio?

Decks suit raised back doors and sloped yards. Patios suit level ground and ground level entertaining. Some homes use both, and we are happy to talk through which fits your yard.
